I noticed the recent change the PMS where the new Plex Movie scanner allows ONLY the new Plex Movie agent and if I want to use my other agents, I need to set the scanner to “Plex Movie Scanner” for that library, but then I cannot use the new Plex Movie agent.
For video files such as TV movies, mini-series, or other oddities with no IMDB or TMDB entries and hence will not match with the new Plex Movies agent, I have relied on matching to the Personal Media agent, and then manually locking in the renamed title and other pertinent information as well as adding the art to ensure that subsequent library scans would not interfere.
But now, without the Personal Media agent, I have several movies which I have manually edited and “locked”, still get changed with library scans. I really like the new Plex Movie agent, but any suggestions how to “lock” changes for non-matches (the “lock” icon doesn’t always work)? Thanks.
personal media, the legacay agent and TMDB are all written in a different codebase which can’t work with new agent in the same library
Can you provide some examples of what will not match. (miniseries never will since they are TV shows by nature)

Can I ask what the GUID is of one of the item with the issue. Get Info then View XML then in the XML there will be something like guid="tv.plex.agents.none://26210"

What I am finding is over time, items that I used to set as “Personal Media” and I manually enter the name, date, etc. (with the lock icon set) get reverted back to their filename and the date doesn’t show (even though there is a date and it’s locked). Here’s an example: Notice the year is missing
Any workarounds for this issue? I keep having to fight Plex from renaming my manually-named videos back to their filenames. Before, I could set it as “Personal Media” to resolve this issue. But now, without the “Personal Media” option, Plex keeps undoing my manual changes (which are supposed to be “locked” as indicated by the lock icon) with each rescan. It doesn’t happen to all files, just some of them for some reason. And the Plex Dance doesn’t always resolve the problem.
Any suggestions on how to get names and dates to stick for non-matches? Thanks.
