From my recollection of the past few years, it’s pretty unusual that a blog-worthy development hasn’t come along for such an extended period of time.
I wonder what’s coming down the pipe. Any predictions/speculations??

Live TV I hope they are staying quiet for Live TV
I’m guessing a bigger Server Update is coming with more control over your (shared) streams and users.

If they allow a DVR platform, it will be restricted to local users not remote no doubt.

It will be limited to remote users i guess yeah, but thats not a big issue
2 things for sure:
Audiobook support
Plexpy intergration
Lots & Lots of platform updates lately so I’m guessing it’s a build up to a big release
Maybe they’ll hit 1.0?
…why is everyone laughing?

I’m anticipating this as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of these client updates are disguises for under the hood features. I’m anticipating bitrate limits for sure and hoping for adaptive bitrate and client buffering with it. These three developments fit together really well and would be a revolutionary step in the remote steaming stack of features and capabilities. Honestly Plex has matured to the point I can’t imagine what else would keep the team busy this long (power user features such as distributed transcoding notwithstanding).
I’ve also noticed some shuffling of the staff that suggests heavier development is happening on the server that we haven’t seen yet. There’s also the elephant in the room. @elan isn’t remotely as active anymore so he’s either preparing to leave or more likely he’s buckled down with his brother and the rest of the server team working on something big.
I could of course be completely wrong here. We’ll probably never know for sure.

Definitely not preparing to leave, just buckled down with some heavy development work. Lots of cool stuff in the pipeline. I love you guys, and the guesses in this thread are fun to read

Dang it…you were supposed to take the bait and leak some details and/or timelines. :((

Laughing? Not really. But remember there are an infinite number of numbers between 0.9.16.0 and 1.0.
However I really hope this is correct.

The second is not very important for me but the first is.
Few companies are better at keeping their cards close to their vest than Plex so we will just have to wait and see. Also we need to watch carefully what they have hidden up their collective sleeves. Maybe we will see five aces on the table after the dust clears. I just hope it is not aces and eights.
I am not impatient at all. Any release within the next 24 hours will be fine and 48 OK but after that…
maybe they’ve been bought by IBM and all the queues are being tied into Watson.

Excellent
I wish you guys had an insiders group for those of us who caretoomuchaboutPlextobehealthy. My average heart rate when seeing a new release thread would fall considerably. I’d probably also live you longer. Essentially you’d be saving lives.
@elan any sneak previews or snippets on potential UI changes that the UX team have been working on?

Which changes? we have recently had a massive UI change, and that didnt go down too well!
@tobiashieta has indicated that the UX team for PMP are working on revised UI to address the feedback received on the new UI style.
Did he now - @tobiashieta that would be wonderful,
https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/207918/pmp-weekly-update-11-and-1-0-5-rc/p1
The UI updates should (hopefully) drop late Q1 early Q2.
I will let the UX team speak to specifics, I don’t know what they end up deciding on in the end, but I know both those are things they have been discussing.
Nice @reddwarfcrew - do you think this will translate to all the applications? or just PMP?
