No option to activate Plex on mobile app

Hi there,

I’m currently running the latest version of Plex on the latest version of Android and when I go to use the app it tells me I’m in trial mode. When I click the three dots in the top right corner and select activate Plex. I get a screen that says “Playback on this device is currently limited. You can get full playback by purchasing a Plex pass subscription.” I don’t get any options for a one time activation fee.
Is there something I need to do to get that option available to me.

EDIT: This is for my wife’s account on her phone. I already have Plex pass on my server.

Since you have a Plex Pass and are the server admin Invite her account into your Plex Home and she will not have to buy the app separately. Plex Home is meant for people you actually live with.

Go to users and sharing settings click on her account then hit the house button on the top right to invite her account into your home

Then she with her account goes to same settings and accepts the invite by clicking on the arrow next to your username.

If you see the Plex Pass option, you should see the activate option. Can you provide a screen shot?

Ok. There should be a “Subscribe to Plex Pass” button as well. If you don’t see those, that means the app is unable to communicate with the Google Plex Store. Did you install the app through the Play Store or did you sideload the app? Sideloaded apps can’t be activated through the Play Store.

It’s installed properly through the Play store. I’ll have a look through her permissions and see if she’s done something silly. Appreciate all your help guys and/or gals.

She does not need a Plex Pass. Just add her account to your Plex Home as described above
