i can only convert no original option available
Set it to ‘convert automatically’.
This will Direct Play the movie if it is possible.
(You might have to disable ‘Automatically adjust quality’ under Settings - Web - Quality)
I have disabled automaticlly adjust in plex web settings but the media server always decides what it wants to do since one of the recent updates to .10
eg when I play a media file from plex web it decides to run in auto at 2.2mbps instead of max (ive capped the remote streams at 3mbps) if i choose to convert to maximum it just ignores the request and goes back to auto.
does anyone know the server build when they introduced auto convert feature? I want to roll back

That is correct behaviour then.
If you set a cap at 3 mbps, a video bitrate of 2.2mbps is correct. You’ll want an audio track as well with your video, which takes up some of that bandwidth and some safety margin for bandwidth spikes as well.

Ok that makes sense but yesteday i experienced where the stream changed on the fly from say 2.2mbps down to 1mbps when the upload link has no staturation and can easily support 10mbps up. It did this behaviour even though that auto feature is disabled
