No play progress when casting from phone to Android TV

When casting from phone to Shield Plex app no play progress is reported to server.
It doesn’t show up in now playing and it isn’t marked as watched.

It works when viewing on phone.
It works when viewing on Android TV.
It works when casting to Shield’s internal chromecast.
It doesn’t work when casting to Shield Plex app.
