Hi, I have just bought a Panansonic TX-32FS352B Smart TV which has a link to download extra apps but no Plex app. ? I was led to believe that an official Panasonic app has been released to all Panasonic Smart TVs released since 2014. That includes models shipped with the Firefox OS, and includes all of the features users have become accustomed to with their other Plex apps. Has anyone any idea how I can get Plex for this TV.
And in all honesty you’re probably better off getting a separate streaming box instead of relying on the Plex app for Panasonic (and Smart TVs in general). The former are generally much better supported by both the manufacturer and Plex…
Yes that would be an option, but while I have been searching for the answer, I have got used to the built in Media Player on the TV which in all fairness is ok for the music and video that I have.
I’ve a QNAP-NAS with 8 TB of Movies and TV-Shows and had looked for a Server, thats organize these files. My TV is a PANASONIC Viera and i found the PLEX-APP in the Panasonic-Market, So, i thought, this is the best solution for my requirements. I made this decision at the begining of 2019 an then bought the Lifetime PLEX-Pass. And now i found the succinct Information, that PANASONIC-Smart-TVs are no longer supported. But they give frustated users a “Tip”: Since these platforms and models are no longer supported, we encourage users to instead make use of a modern Plex app on a supported platform. For instance, we have Plex apps available on Roku, Chromecast, Apple TV, Fire TV, Android TV, game consoles, etc.
My tip to all Plex-Users: Don’t buy the PLEX-Pass. It could be, that you must buy additional Hardware to use this Tool for a longer time. If I find another Tool, I will replace PLEX ASAP. The money für Plex-Pass i write off.
PS: you say, we shouldt criticĂze ideas, not people. Sorry, ideas come and go, but people make the decission, which ideas are implemented. So these people have to take the criticism.
