I just set up a new Sony Bravia XR65A80J and want to add the Plex player. However, I cannot find it in the Google TV app store. I had expected it to be available from all I have read. Is it correct that it is not on the Sony Google TV app store? Any ideas for what top do next?
Is that the regular Google Play app store? At least that’s where tv.google.com is pointing me at – and Plex is still listed. Not sure if there’s some geographical restrictions (none that I’m aware of)?!
I do also see the Plex app when going to tv.google.com. However, I don’t know if the app story tab in the Google TV menu takes me to that URL The App Store on the TV show many apps, like Netflix, but searching for Plex does not return any result.
I just had Sony Customer Service look at the problem. It appears that it is in the TV App Store but instead in the Play App Store. One has to go into settings and then select the Play Store. Anyway, it is now installed. It saw my servers right away and appears to work great.
