Plex Players Smart TVs

Hello All,

Got a really weird issue. I’ve x2 TVs in my house both Sony Bravia (bought within the last 3 months). These both come with google TV built in. The upstairs TV (55”) can find Plex on the Google Play store no problem. However the 65” (downstairs tv) can’t. They’re both on the same network and both using the same Google account.

Can someone shed some light? I can’t watch tv downstairs but upstairs is fine lol! Am I missing something here lol?

you state that your other tv can’t find “Plex” on the “Google Play store.” Are you stating that you can’t download the plex app from the google play store on the 2nd tv?

Or that after you have downloaded the app and logged into your plex account on that app that you cannot see your server?

Can’t find the Plex application to install it on the second TV.

Both TVs are 2023 Sony Bravia’s which use Google TV as the operating system.

If you search your issue in Google there are very limited results. I’d factory reset the TV and start over unless that’s a lot of effort. If it is, clear cache on Playstore app. Search on Google for some random things others have found. This isn’t something that people experience and has an obvious solution from what I have read.

Have you tried having the Google Play store “deliver” the app to the TV for you? You can go to the page for it on the Play Store (on your PC) and tell it to install it on devices logged into the same account if they are compatible with the app.
