This is the folder where that file is located
Yup, look at those file sizes. Something definitely went wrong saving the files.
Not sure about the DNS rebinding, Iām using a mesh system TP link which has very basic functions and nothing has been changed since it stopped working. Not sure why it would be working fine until last week
Also,
Not sure why only movies would be affected but Tv shows are still matching with artwork just fine?
On mine, if something has some metadata already (tv or movie) it will match and download from TVDB as normal. If it has no .nfo files, the tv show will match and add all the metadata except the posters. Iām seeing this line in the logs a lot as well:
Level:Error
Thread:0x7f08a17fa700
Message: Unknown metadata type: folder
Umm, only shows are matched to TheTVDB.
The nfo file and the posters have nothing to do with each other. Iām not sure how having this file would have any effect.
False error message. You can ignore.
Unless that particular show was forced to TMDB during a Fix Match - doing more and more of those these days.
If the show exists at TMDB, Fix Match might work and the logs generated might have something in them worth seeing.
Right, that makes sense. If you have a local poster, it will use that. It doesnāt matter about the nfo file. The only thing the nfo file helps with is to help match the show. Itās that poster.jpg file that would be driving what you see.
So where should I look from here to try to figure out the issue?
For me, it seems to download movie posters just fine (just confirmed this now) and on a normal show I just added it worked fine as well. But for 3 dozen anime I added none of them worked. Is there something different about anime that would make it not getting posters when scanned in as a tv show? It always worked in the past.
I also shouldāve been clearer before, I meant tvdb for tv shows, movie scanner for movies.
Just tried to recreate that show and it worked for me. So I think itās something on your system preventing the downloading of the images.
I suspected it was DNS rebinding for the other user. Maybe the same for you.
Iām using OpenDNS but Iāll try switching and testing it out. Seems odd that it will download everything else including posters for movies.
Would appreciate if you could start a different thread as it is a separate issue to what this topic is about
Thanks again for your help MovieFan.Plex, Anything else I can try?
So,
The PMS with the issues is on my Mac Mini (PMS version 1.19.3.2852).
I opened PMS on my MacBook (Same network), which is an older version (1.18.7.2457-77cb9455c) since Iāve never used it. I added some movies to the PMS on my MacBook and it matches perfectly.
Not sure if the problem is the version of Plex so I didnt update it yet.
I donāt think itās the version of PMS. I still think there is something running on your Mac Mini causing this. Maybe some sort of malware/internet security program.
Understandable but we have the same issue that started randomly on the same day. Would expect it to be connected, no? In any case, I tried switching to Google DNS and upgrading to the latest beta release with no change in behaviour.
I fixed my issue so maybe itās yours too. For some reason all my libraries changed from English to Dansk so it could not find posters in that language. All new libraries also defaulted to that language. Changing back to English didnāt fix it so I had to create new libraries, manually changing it to English at the time of creation. Weird bug.
