No posters for TV seasons after moving from windows to freebsd

Server Version#: 1.18.4.2171
Player Version#: N/A

I have recently migrated my server from windows to freenas in a jail, as I was previously running freenas in a VM under hyper-v and now have it on dedicated hardware.

I had an issue with posters and movies initially where it would fetch the poster but not assign it, I don’t even recall how I solved the issue but my TV issue is different.

My current issue seems to be with TV posters, it seems to grab metadata but not the posters. (so even when I try to edit it no posters show up to select at all).

I have tried the following.

  • creating a new library (and now none of my seasons have posters)
  • manually removing HTTP cookies / cache
  • making sure that settings -> agents -> shows -> have the respective database checked and at the top of the list
  • TVDB and the movie database

When migrating from Windows to any *nix (Unix / Linux) platform, you must also delete the metadata caches. The documentation hasn’t caught up with this step yet.

In /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plug-in Support/Data you’ll find a bunch of metadata caches and particularly the HTTPCookies. Delete it all but keep the Data directory.

Now restart and refresh the metadata.

that fixed it, i bet that would of fixed the movie issue as well.

thanks!
