I've been playing with plex for the last few days, love it.
After reading and trouble shooting as much as possible I have not found the answer for my problem.
I started by adding my TV shows ( I have over 100). It seems to only work for half of the metadata agent, it gave me all the episode names, descriptions, dates, ratings , etc , etc, but it added no posters of any kind, no main folder, or season posters, ... I can add them manually and it works fine, but from some of the reading I thought poster would be added too? Or did I not understand how the TVDB metadata agent works? I also added the fanart agent and did a refresh hoping that would add posters but again no go.. is there something I should check or do or do I not understand how it is supposed to work properly? I did move TVDB up to first on agent listings for tv too...
Try deep scan, and make sure your plugin is still working by clicking on "Custom Search" and ensuring that it says TVDB under "using." If not, you need to delete your plugins and reopen the server. Thanks Kabe124, couldn't open dropbox (looked empty) but I am using a windows pc ... I just started a deep scan but doesn't that just check my folders, if so my folders didnt have any artwork to start, I was hoping the plex metadata agent would fetch them for me? If this doesn't work I guess I will try a force refresh, which again the way I read it sounds like it should fetch artwork? But then again I thought it would to start with .. also not sure where I go to do a "custom search" to see if it is using TVDB .. is maybe just a mac thing?
Edit: Or maybe custom search is a movie only feature? I haven't added my movie library yet, making sure I get metadata working first so I don't have to manually add artwork for those too.... from what I can see I should be able to right click to get some options including custom search, but again maybe only a mac option? When I right click on any of my tv icons, be it a show folder, season folder or episode I only get normal windows os options ....
