No remote access! Static IP set. Port forwarded. No double-NAT. What else could it be?

Hello -

The subject pretty much says it all. I have a Windows 7 machine that would constantly drop in and out of having remote access. So, I finally went through every troubleshooting step listed here:

I set up a static IP (tested successfully). I forwarded the port as instructed (also tested successfully). I confirmed that I do not have a double-NAT situation.

The article I linked to doesn’t really give any other help beyond those things, so I’m not sure what’s going on. I’ve re-booted as well. Any ideas? Thank you!!!
