My Plex has been working for a couple of years but the other day Remote Access went offline. I am connected to the internet but it says no internet connection. I can play off some devices remotely but it only plays through the Plex relay (Max 2M/S). I have tried the following:
Port forwarding on different routers, Signing out all devices, changing password etc, trying different ISP’s (at work and home) even tried completely reinstalling Windows 10 and only installing Plex with no antivirus or firewall - Not successful.
I then rolled back to an earlier version (1.15.1.170 and still no good.
I have had my companies IT department and even a System intergrater look at it and they say that there is no reason it shouldn’t be working. Is it possible there is a limit on my lifetime Plex pass? Anyone got any ideas?
to add you might also need to make sure your IP is not behind a double nat the one the server sits in.
Plex server IP but first check what is suggested above.
the biggest cause of remote issues is either the Network address translation of the plex server SEE above for port forward.
or something at the ISP level such and CGNAT or Carrier grade Nat which you may need a static ip or other proper forwards in place. some ISP do not allow for port forwards unless you pay for a static IP.
