No response from plex media server.

Hello.

New to flex and found this amazing app I wanted to use on my Apple tv 3.

When i start the trailers on the ATV the program on the computer responds, but then the error message arrives. Tried to restart both pc, wireless router and atv.

Atv is cables to giabit router, and computer is wireless to same router.

 

Here are the info:

  • ATV 3, firmware 5.3

  • DNS set to 192.168.0.50(manual) Normaly 192.168.0.1

  • Windows xp. PlexConnect-0.1-iOS-pre5.1

  • 192.168.0.50

  • Server? im guessing the same machine. Do I have to run something besides plexconnect?

  • Internal drive on my computer.

  • 0,1

For some reason auto discovery of your PMS is not working.

See the advanced settings at the bottom of the install guide - you need to manually set your PMS IP in settings.cfg

Hm, dumb question but Do I need to run a server beside the plexconnect? As I Said im new to this thing, and im thinking iv overlooked the "missing link" where I need another program?

Yes, PlexConnect is only a client for the Plex media server.

BTw. do i need to keep the web page for the server open, or is the icon down on the rightside ok?

No tray icon is fine for the server.
