No sound from Plex for Mac on MacBook Air

I am running the latest version of the plex player for Mac on a MacBook Air 15" running Mac OS Sonoma 14.1. I do get sound on an Imac thats running the plex for mac player. Same MacOS.

A few weeks while trying to play some video files the sound has stopped coming from the MacBook speakers or externally via bluetooth to a Bose soundbar. The app is not muted for sound !!
I do get sound when trying to play the same video files from the VLC app.

Does anyone have any suggestions where to look next ? I have looked in the Plex settings and in the system settings on my MacBook but with no success so far.

This topic can be closed as the issue was with the sound volume settings in the plex web player. Doh !
