No Soup For You - You Do Not Have Access to This Server

Newbie at using my Synology 920+ and Plex, no matter what I have tried I cannot access the media on my NAS.

I keep getting the error, "No soup for you " and that I have no access to the server.

I have both downloaded Plex from the Package Centre and manually installed from the Plex website specific to the device but no luck fixing the issue.

Also I have followed the instructions regarding giving permissions to Plex on the share folder for the System Internal User.

I am now completely out of options so hoping someone may know the issue I am having and point me in the right direction.

I purchased this NAS for the purpose of running a Plex server and hours later I am wondering why this is so hard. I’ve a lifetime pass on my account and have been using Plex for years now via my desktop as a server with no issues.

Any help would be very much appreciated…

Using an incognito / private browser window, on a system on the same network as the DS920+, go to http://syno_ip_address:32400/web, substituting the actual IP address of the NAS.

Do not click “Open” in Package Center. Do not use Quick Connect, synology.me, etc. Do not use a remote connection. Those will not work. For the initial setup you must be on the same network and point the browser at the IP address of the NAS. The incognito window is to make sure browser add-ons do not get in the way.

Also, stay with the version from the Plex website. The version from the Package Center is oudated.

What is this supposed to accomplish? All this does is load the same thing for me. My NAS was working fine as recently as a couple of days ago and then I tried to run it today and I’m getting no access to the server on at least 4 different devices. I don’t know if there was an update somewhere or what, but it’s failing to work on my Samsung smart TV, 2 different laptops (one is on a VPN and one is local) and my phone. My phone shows the server as offline, but the others just say I don’t have access. I literally changed nothing on this thing that was working fine but is now not.

Plex Media Server version? Available via Synology Package Center. ex: 1.25.6.6677 (not 4.something)
