No Soup for you

Server Version#:1.15.2.793-782228f99
Player Version#: Version 3.83.1 (webclient)

The server “undefined” is unreachable. Make sure it’s running, double check your network, and try again.
I am getting this error in the side bar when trying to access dashboard since the new update.
The activity indicator will show 4 or 2 processes active, when expanded it lists my server 2x with either 1 or 2 processes per instance. When I click on either dashboard link it takes me to the no soup page and all server instances leave until I refresh the browser.

Hello, glad to see i’m not alone.

Same issue for me since the last update: 1.15.1.707 (with new web 3.83.1), dont have any issue before.
From my side, i’m running plex server on Linux (amd64).

I use my own adress (or locally) to connect to my plex server, not plex.tv (different web version)

I try to update on all next release (currently 1.15.2.793) but still the same issue like @Tuxydoh said :

“The activity indicator will show 4 or 2 processes active, when expanded it lists my server 2x with either 1 or 2 processes per instance. When I click on either dashboard link it takes me to the no soup page and all server instances leave until I refresh the browser.”

To bypass this issue, i have to logout and loggin again to make it works again.

@Plex
are you already aware about this issue ?
is this web issue or server side issue ?
(I can’t confirm cause I don’t use it so much, but it seems, I have no issue when I login from plex.tv which use different web version; 3.91.0)

thank you

edit: did not see this post: No soup for you!

This is getting worse, even after latest update I am getting this error in almost every single control panel or non-home screen, please please get this fixed this is terrible I have to restart the service so often because i want to monitor the recording schedule

Mine seems to have stabilized, the only things I have done was a reinstall (didnt change) and an complete system restart. After the 2 things I have been about 24 hours without issue thus far.

Use the hosted web app for now, because it already has a fix.

Same problem here - I was unable to access any settings in the control panel. I reverted to a snapshot with the older build on it, and will try an update to see if it works this time around…

OK, looks like when I update through the web interface it works fine, but when I install from the installer it adds the dashboard.

So apparently the dashboard does not get added unless you install from the installer, and updates through the web interface will not add it at all.

I just did a manual install after shutting down the PMS as a service app, and it looks like the dashboard was added AND it’s working (and I only lost a week of watched status, which is no big obstacle).

That doesn’t sound right.

To use the dashboard, you need an updated server version. So install that one from the installer.
Then open the hosted web app and use it. app.plex.tv

Yup, definitely odd behavior. Here’s the whole process, if it helps others:

  • was previously on 1.14 version of PMS
  • last time I ran the installer to update was 1.11, all other updates had been through the web interface
  • there was no dashboard in the web interface for my server
  • installed from installer to update to 1.15 version
  • it added the dashboard, left tasks I couldn’t clear, and wouldn’t allow me to access any settings panes, as well as adding in the tray icon (which had been missing)
  • tried reinstall, didn’t work
  • reverted to week-old snapshot with old version
  • turned off PMS as a service and installed client from installer
  • prompted me to reboot, which I did, then it came up clean and working, showing the dashboard and all data correctly

And now it’s doing the same thing again. The dashboard is not worth it to me, so I’m going back to before, when it was working.

It bugged out bad again this weekend, I can’t tell what it is currently doing since every control panel incl. dashboard comes back “no soup for you”

It appears it is still recording but being on a Prime 3 with FIOS it is almost always recording during the day and I don’t want to interrupt if it can be avoided, any chance there is a fix to this coming, soon?

The machine is on auto pilot and I can’t make any changes to it during normal hours, rather frustrating at this point, and it if all for a fancy little dashboard, can you just kill that and work on in beta and launch when it is actually ready?

This is definately getting worse!!

what’s happening to Plex??? So many issues now…

Let’s go Plex, this is still a massive issue on our servers, literally can’t access anything through a computer web-interface during operating hours.

Updated server version over night, checked the dashboard this morning when playing live tv, it held up for about one hour, then during browsing the TV Schedule in the locally hosted web interface, it broke and now…no soup for you.

This appears to be directly linked to the dashboard info on currently playing items, when stuff is not playing or recording it appears to revert and you can actually browse the server locally again.

WTH is going on Plex, how can this still not be fixed?

Mine WAS working, updated today and I’m borked again. I think I’m just not going to update the software any more…

Same issues here on QNAP. I am going to roll back to a previous version in the hope it is a little more stable.

I thought mine was due to the addition of the dashboard, but that is apparently there now (or I just didn’t notice it before), so I’m completely at a loss.

I’d be willing to troubleshoot at some point (after the upcoming weekend), but I’m flying blind with what to send.

21 days and like 4 updates later, still having the issue. Sure would be nice if there was some actual support for the app I have paid for.

Very disappointed that there has been no response on this issue from any plex admin.
