No video output

About a week, or so, ago I started having intermittent playback issues, IE. videos would just stop with an “unknown” error, but upon restarting the playback the video would playback just fine. About 4 days ago I lost all hardware transcoding and my server sits with 15 of my 16 threads at 100%, according to htop. This usage is even while no videos are being played. As of yesterday I have no video playback on my Roku , laptop, and phone.

Last night I reformatted all drives on my server and fresh installed Debian 10.9, and I am still having the same issue.

Did you update the Nvidia drivers?

There is a report somewhere about the latest (version: *85 ? ) that’s not being detected.

Folks are backing down to a slightly older nvidia driver version and having success again with the card being detected.

you can check /sys/module/nvidia and see if it’s realized to /dev/dri

Judging by the transcoder, it’s not seeing it at all and going straight to software.

Thank you very much for your time. I went back to NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-450.119.03 driver and all apears to be working again.
