No video playback.

Just installed the latest version (0.9.9.6-20130314-c81869f4) and I have no video playback.   Playback works fine in all my other clients (Windows, Linux and Android,) but when I try to play the same content on mt Raspberry Pi, I get audio but no video.

Nope didn't work.

Is it Black screen w/ audio?

If so, it's a temporary issue that goes away after caching.

How long does it take to cache?

You can force caching as described in FAQ. For me, it was around 30 minutes.

Lovely.    It is alpha software though.

I get audio, but no video on mkv rips.  No black screen, just able to see and navigate the menu.  I believe it's cached.

I am experiencing same (audio playback but no video, screen continues to display the movie selection screen), with MKV files. MP4 files on the other hand, are playing back wonderfully. The MKVs play without issue on other PLEX clients throughout our house.

Dale and everybody, thank you so much for your work on this project. Amazing results so far!

Just got my rasplex and am experiencing audio, but video still showing the menus.

It’s on high bit rate .mkv files with hd audio. I’ll have a play around as all my 720p content works fine. Might just be the limitation of the device, but I would love a client that handles 1080p and passes through hd sound bitstream to my amp. Is this possible?

Mine plays bluray remux with DD or DTS very Well.

Update: well turns out all I needed was the hardware accelerated codecs purchasable from raspberry pi direct.

Works a charm now
