PC: Vorke V1 Plus
OS: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
Plex Server: Version 1.10.1.4602
TV Tuner: Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD (UK)
Storage: WD MyCloud
I’m using a Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD UK tuner with my Plex server (using ubuntu desktop 16.04).
Live TV is working fine but any show I try to record comes up with ‘No write access to destination’ once it starts trying to record. I have tried recording on a public share on my WD MyCloud, my secondary internal HDD & the internal SSD (that the OS runs on), all with the same results, regardless of permissions. The MyCloud is automatically mounted through fstab using cifs. The secondary drive is auto mounted through the device settings in Ubuntu. The initial SSD of course doesn’t need mounting as the OS is running from.
Any advice on how I could fix this? I don’t want to have to redo my entire Plex library in order to do this.
All of them would be best. Question as I reread all of the comments. When you have changed storage locations did you delete the recording or just change the library to point to new storage location? It is generally best to delete the recording and then recreate choosing the new storage location. I would also recommend using internal storage for the recordings. You can then setup a script to move them to your external NAS storage if that is where you ultimately desire them to be stored permanently. Here is a link to a comment (https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/1592381#Comment_1592381) I just posted on another thread using a NAS for recordings as well showing screenshots of how I setup my system. I don’t have a NAS but use a separate internal disk for recording and then move the recordings to where I want them stored.
I have deleted the recordings (not that they exist but deleted in the plex panel) before changing the directory the recording saves too. I have tried this on 2 network drives, the internal HDD (without OS on) and the internal SSD (which the OS does run on) but the results remain the same.
Ideally I need this to store, at least, the internal HDD as my primary drive (SSD) is only 64GB.
