I have a Android device that keeps playing videos from my plex server it is very strangeI have deauthorized all device on plex.tv and changed my password the device is not listed on my server but yet i keep catching it playing videos. Any ideas?
Check to see if you’ve a keyloger on your computer. Hell some virus can even remotely access your computer. I’d say download malware bits and give that a try.
Also check your router setting and see if you can block that devices public ip address.
I use Qubes OS so no key loggers on the VM used for Plex, My pfsense firewall is blocking the IP address on all connection but it looks like plex is allowing an indirect connection. So maybe plex’s website has a messed up key on the backend is the only thing I can think. It is crazy that the only Android device I have is the Ellipsis 7 but a Bravia TV keeps accessing the system when it is not listed in my devices.
the ellipsis 7 in the image in first post is your device? do you have any shared or managed users with a Bravia TV? other shared users devices will not show up under your device list. if they are in your Home and they do not have a PIN you can switch to them and see.
No shared account only managed users. The Bravia TV is connecting from California and I do not have anyone there that I have given access to my plex account, the ellipsis 7 is my nephew’s tablet, that was my next step is to add the pin but it is worrying that plex may have a pin hole somewhere that random non-authorized user can access my plex server. Is your server updated to the latest version? There has been a security issue before, and some servers are shared on a facebook group (Plex Nation) because they are not secure.

Did you or one of your managed users use the plex credentials in a Hotel room TV at some point in the past?
Yep I am on the latest version, No I am the only one with the credentials and I only access the server using my VPN tunnel back to my data center network. I have changed my username and password we will see if that fixes it.
Latest version here too. I deauth’d a device, but left plex client running on device while it was still authorized. I can’t modify my user information as it says I’m not logged in, but I still have access on the deauth’d device to play videos. If I close the app, I suspect it might do the right thing, but that’s still a bug. Plex client is lg smart tv, web os3 or whatever. Effectively, I can’t disallow anyone from playing videos without shutting down server.
