Server Version#: do not know for sure
Player Version#: do not know for sure
Sometime early in the new year installed Plex for the fourth, fifth or sixth time but vowed I would learn how to use it this time. I have a Tablotv PVR and a My Book Live 2TB. In the case of the TabloTv I use Tablo Ripper to transfer files to a hard drive for safe storage. The My Book Live file were all copied and transfer to same safe storage hard drive, and is no longer used. After learning the basics of updating my files into Plex Media Server, I had one of those days.
After checking my TabloTv recordings I opened my safe storage HD. The very first file I noticed for the first time I thought was the typical Windows yellow icon file folder. For all of the media files they are identified by the Blue Windows media file icon, title and episode etc. So, since one of these things was not like the others and thinking it had not been there the last time I was verifying transfers, I deleted it before I thought about what I was doing. Just one of those days.
Deleting the file folder only affected the the Plex Media Server operation, not my media files. After visiting the Plex forums, I tried reinstalling program and repairing. I have tried deleting Plex local files, plus other forum suggestions etc.
Going into Windows 11 settings, selecting Apps and scrolling down to the Plex Apps is a unknown file with a generic Windows type icon. Under the icon is the following identifer 1.40.1|Plex, Inc.|2022-03-07 There is no size associated with this unknown file. I can guess it is Plex installation identifier of some type. I believe this to be hidden in Windows somewhere and just need to delete this artifact to be able to do a fresh install.
When I tried to uninstall I rececive an error message. Something to the affect there is no H:\Plex\Uninstall.exe associated with this unknown file.
I believe that since I can not uninstall this from Windows Apps. It is preventing me from a proper download of Plex Media Server or being able to repair via Plex Media Server download.
If anyone has resolved a similar issue, any help to a viable solution would be appreciated. I want to use Plex it is the best media organizer and player the the number of media files involved.
I know I can not see it for looking.
