When I try to play any of my music on the plex android app when I am off of my home network I keep getting this error message: “Playback was not possible: Direct play not available; Conversion OK.” Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
It appears an update has happened by plex or synology that has broke this. As i cannot play any music file types.
I created a new library with the same issue. I have optimized the database, and have the same issue. I downloaded the latest version of plex and reinstalled it with the same issue.
However, if i use cloud plex my music files play again.
Plex will need to look into this issue, and release a patch for it. I am running a synology ds214play with an Intel 32 bit processor.
Isn’t there any true support from Plex Staff here? You pay 40 a year for this product with no decent support.
I register with Emby, and post in their community staff, and their staff responds to issues or requests right away.

This is a plex issue either with the plex server that you download for yourself or the app. As I have setup a new plex server on a windows pc, and it does the same thing. However, if I use plex’s website and launch their server then I am able to listen to my music on my server on my phone in the browser off of my network with no issues.
Server and App logs if anyone is willing to look at these and assist.
