Because of the email I received today about “the hack” and the notice to change the password to Plex… I did so and marked the checkbox to log out all devices. But not all devices logged out, only the ones logged in using a password, other devices that used a link code are still logged in… is this correct?
No. Even devices that used the link should be removed. Please note that this does not explicitly “sign out” of the app, but any access to a server would fail. You may need to manually sign out and back in (with new link code) to see your server again.
Well they didn’t… Plex on PS5 and on Android TV are still logged in. Every other device using a password did log out.
Do you have any entries in Settings → Network → List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth?
If so, do they include the PS5 & Android TV devices?
No Auth = No login required, so such devices would still have access to your server.
Nope, no IP addresses for access without authentication… PS5 was still logged in, tv was still logged in, but chromecast TV wasn’t.
Ah well, the devices don’t use email and password for access, password is changed so I don’t think it’s any kind of risk… it’s just weird.
