Hey. My setup isn’t complicated. Just a windows desktop as a server and we only stream locally here at home. Remote connections is disabled…anyway I changed my password on Plex.tv…then to make sure it was OK I went to the desktop the server was on…Logged out/back in and it worked… However when the password was changed, I didn’t log out other devices…so on one of my Roku’s I manually logged out and back in and it gave me a link code which worked…did I do this correctly?
Should I do it in all devices? Log out and back in? I guess I’m sort of paranoid now because, although I do not use my Iphone for Plex… I downloaded the Plex app on Iphone and it will absolutely not let me log in using my email and new password…even though that IS the new password…I even went back to my server and logged out/back in to make sure…same on Plex.tv…I also read where I would have to reclaim server if I changed my password but I saw nothing about reclaiming anything…I’m logged back into the server and it’s working as usual…
A while back… I enabled 2-factor auth but I had to disable it because the Ipad wouldn’t connect to my server…it would connect but my folders were shaded and couldn’t access them…
Did you check the checkbox which says to disconnect all other devices?
If you did, you have to re-connect all other Plex clients as well for proper function.
Some of these clients may appear as if they have still access.
However, that may be because you have instructed your server to give them access anyway. “List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth”
Hey - thanks for responding. I didn’t think anyone would especially during this issue. I didn’t check the box to log out all devices…but with all of the devices we use, I later logged completely out of all the players and back in…and it worked great except on the Ipad or Iphone…they wouldn’t accept the new password…so we ended up logging back in using the apple log in and that worked…Not sure why the apple devices wouldn’t log in…I do have my network set to work without internet (list of IP’s without auth)
I have to worst time with anything Apple and Plex when it comes to logging in…Like I had said, when I turned on 2-factor auth…they would Not WORK… the roku’s did and my windows laptop worked perfectly but not the apples.
