Not all files detected on Library Scan

Server Version#: 1.29.2.6364-7000
Player Version#:

Synology Model#: DS1815+
DSM Version#: 7.1.1-42962

1st time post but have looked through forum for an answer which has resulted in a dead end, Current issue majority of files added to library are not picked up on scan, some do make it in though. If i copy of the contents off to another location and copy it back in the file(s) are detected and added to the library.

Naming format looks ok, any ideas?

When things are not detected, it’s mostly due to either naming or permissions

For permissions, make sure the user PlexMediaServer can access the files, and if so, post a screen capture showing us the actual file naming

This may or may not help

Hopefully the screenshots can be accessed, if i was to move that file out of the library and then move it back it will be discovered no issues

Try…
Flight of the Navigator (1986) [Bluray-1080p].mkv
Flight of the Navigator (1986).mkv
Flight of the Navigator (1986) {tt0091059}.mkv

Additional file information needs to be put inside square brackets.

That tells Plex to ignore all of that information. Otherwise, the scanner thinks that’s part of the movie title. It will not scan at all, get matched incorrectly or get matched as a duplicate of another movie you already have.

I don’t know if this is 100% your problem. I’m not sure why it wouldn’t match then match ok if you move it out and then add it again

Close, but not close enough

Try this for a file name:
Flight of the Navigator (1986) {imdb-tt0091059} [Bluray-1080p].mkv

In above, we have the title, year in brackets, a hint in curly brackets, and misc. info in square brackets

Note, that if media is placed in a folder of it’s own, folder should be named:
Flight of the Navigator (1986) {imdb-tt0091059}

Yeah I guess the “imdb” part is kind of important

oops lol
