Step 1: Filter your library for “Duplicates” to identify items with multiple files associated to them. When editing those, you can see the different files in the Info tab. If your missing files are mixed up that way, you can split the item and fix-match the wrongly matched ones.

By not recognized, do you mean Plex doesn’t see them or that Plex is identifying them as shows/movies?

It does not see them as all. For example If I pull up the Media info under the “other info” area it will still show the NAS1 path (like it still should) but new show the NAS2 path.

Trying bringing up a terminal window on NAS2, find the “missing” media, then do a “touch ” That will often trigger a scan by Plex.

When you refer to a terminal window, are you referring to the terminal window in Plex or on my NAS2? I did go onto the properties of the file, change a value there and tried again but still no luck.

On the NAS, by using the touch command, you modify the access time on the media file which will make Plex think something changed on the filesystem and cause a re-scan

I’m not familiar with that brand, but most NAS operating systems are somewhat Linux/Unix based. I just presumed yours was similar. If you don’t have a touch cmd, then try doing the Plex dance with the affected media file. Say it’s a movie, move it out of your Movie library, scan your library, see if the movie disappears. Once it does, move the movie back under the Movie library, scan if you don’t have auto scans enabled.
