Plex is not seeing all files in a library

I cannot figure out what is going on. I had some issues with my server last week regarding covers and throughout the troubleshooting process just determined it was easier to recreate my whole library.

I have 561 Folders in my movie drive.

This is NOT a file naming issue.

I will rebuild the library and do a full scan. When the scan finishes I am usually missing 20 or so movies.

I rescan and the rescan catches a few more, but also will miss some telling me that some movies that have already been added on unavaible.

Why is this happening? I created a new folder and copied 20 at a time to do a scan. It still misses one. I scan one more time and it finds 20. I move 20 more over do a scan and it finds 18 of those and then determines that some of them are no longer there either.

What is going on? I have rebuilt my library multiple times and it still cannot fully scan the folder.

The media is saved to a Raspberry Pi that the Nvidia Shield Connects to. I never had an issue until I had to rebuild my server over some cover art issues.

Do I understand your post correctly that Plex will actually find additional files whenever you run another scan but will also miss some others (flagging them as unavailable)?
Any oddities about the connection / the way your file share is connected from the SHIELD?
Server logs might shed some light on what Plex sees when scanning your library folder.

Experience tells it’s good practice not to rule out bad naming. Given you’ve shared no further details on your file organization and naming, I’ll stand by that experience
