Had 1 Plex server running on navtively on an Ubuntu 22.04 server.
Created a new Plex server running on Ubuntu server 22.04 in a VM instance (on a different host).
Couldn’t connect to the new instance.
Went to connect using the new VM instance local IP address(192.168.2.104:32400/web, and it would not allow me to connect.
Removed my ID from original Ubuntu server
Could not connect to VM instance
Could not reconnect to the original instance.
Not allowed message even after following the instructions. The xml options to remove were not present in the original and VM instance of Plexmedaserver.
Suggestions?
Here. Run this, as root, in the VM, and give it a Plex Claim token.
Instructions / examples in the README if you wish them.
hi ChuckPa! Worked like a charm. why isn’t this published on their official help/support pages? THANK YOU!
It’s not published because Plex didn’t write it ![]()
I have another tool on GitHub which you might like PlexDBRepair.
It does some swoopy optimizations & cleanups
Thanks Chuck. Plex should develop a 3rd party program (upon approval from the tool developer/owner) to include those tools once vetted. Would certainly improve their offering.
Hi Chuck,
I can’t find anywhere on the Community, where I’ve invited a new Plex users to access my server at home and can’t see my PMS Live TV (through my OTA tuner), he’s only able to see Plex channels. I also tried Managed account.
I think this is an error when I go to add the account (via email - which is one of mine BTW). There should be a connected server as I’m on my local PMS when performing this action.
Thanks,
Ian
