Hi I’m using a Mac Mini M1 with Tahoe 26.2, and I’ve removed Plex completely from my computer, both the app and Application Support files. I created a brand new account, and re-downloaded the plex server. I get the error message: Not Authorized. You do not have access to this server. You may be able to claim it by choosing “Open Plex…”from the Plex menu in the MacOS menu bar or Windows system tray. For more troubleshooting tips, see our support article. I’m not sure what my next steps are. Any help would be appreciated.
Did you open Plex from the macOS menu bar? It’s the chevron; if you click it, you should have the “Open Plex…” option, which should open Safari pointed at the local install of the Plex Web app. If the server isn’t claimed, it will start that process.
I’m having the same issue on Windows Server, it is beyond frustrating. I’ve reinstalled fresh three times, tried the /claim thing suggested only to get 403s and 401s, a fresh install of Plex Media Server on a newly set up server, port 32400 accessible externally and yet it shows Not Authorized whenever I go to the tray.
@petaleverbloom Please create a new thread for yourself and include a copy of your server logs. Should be easy to figure out what is going on.
