"Not authorized - You do not have access to this server" Different network

Helo I am running my QNAP NAS in a datacenter 800kms away from my home.
I am trying to set up my plex server remotely from my home IP but of course I am having the classic message “Not authorized”. NAS is using a different subnet & IP.
Of course I tried to log in SSH and curl -X post with my “claim token” but unfortunately “401” error persisting.

I didn’t find the answer on the forum. Is there any solution for set up a PMS when we are not using localhost ?

Thank you

Server Version#: 4.87.2

I looked at your account.

You had 11 " NAS118D09" instances of Plex. (Uninstall - reinstall without deleting old ones)

This alone will cause confusion

What you can do now to reclaim it on QNAP:

  1. Create a shared folder, anywhere you want, named PlexData (this exact case)

  2. Restart PMS once then stop it.

  3. Install the QNAP Text Editor app if you don’t already have it.

  4. Open PlexData → Plex Media Server

  5. Right-click on Preferences.xml → Open with Text Editor.

  6. In the Text editor, find and carefully remove the following Name="Value" pairs without damaging other preferences in there.
    – PlexOnlineUsername
    – PlexOnlineToken
    – PlexOnlineMail
    – PlexOnlineHome

  7. Save the file.

  8. Now you can start Plex and, using the curl method on the QTS SSH command line like you did before.

Thank you for your prompt support.

Unfortunately error 401 persisting, I tried to re-install PMS on my QNAP and now this is what my preferences.xml showing:

="utf-8"?>
<Preferences OldestPreviousVersion="1.30.0.6442-5070ad484" MachineIdentifier="87fae706-bdc9-4e88-b981-13e5a1540128" ProcessedMachineIdentifier="6d5ee65d5b8a55a901bf4382430985d9fb1087dc" AnonymousMachineIdentifier="916fef10-9125-4dd2-80ff-0f569aa034c7" MetricsEpoch="1" GlobalMusicVideoPathMigrated="1"/>

No more Name=value …

Ok, I removed ALL the NAS entries in your account

Please check Preferences.xml is still clear.

You can now restart PMS and try again

Hello,
thanks for your prompt support but still “not authorized”. That is quite strange. I request assistance from the technicians of the DC where the NAS is hosted, and they also failed.
Container was a valuable option but system is running on a 32bits ARM cpu … so impossible! I am quite stuck as it’s also impossible to change the OS for FreeNAS as it’s requesting 64bits minimum.
