"Not enough CPU for conversion of this item" Error message,

High level view:

  • Unlimited max transcoders set in settings
  • Seems to only affect certain media/not all media affected.
  • Direct stream + Direct play are enabled
  • Issue happens on laptop + on Android TV as clients
  • Plex Server is in a Jail, in a FreeBSD box. No other current transcoding/playback sessions are happening on this specific server (ie: it’s idle). Cur ver: 1.21.1.3830
  • Enabling/Disabling HW Transcoding does not affect this.
  • CPU is Intel Celeron CPU J3455 @ 1.50GHz

MSMPEG4V3 is an old codec. There are some encoders that created crazy versions of these files. The transcoder may not be able to handle all of these crazy formats. I would recommend running these files through an encoder (if you can find one that works) and changing them to something else.
