Not getting correct metadata

I have just installed Plex on a new computer build after trying it a few months ago on my old computer. I am just now copying discs onto my hard drive, and I have Plex set up to the correct drive/folders for movies, and TV. So far I am not doing well with correct metadata. I have downloaded 5 movies, and only 2 of them, Amelie and Black Panther, were identified and had the correct metadata. The other 3, Up, The Post, and Kramer vs. Kramer did not have any data. I have followed the correct naming convention (as far as I can tell). I then renamed these 3 to the correct name in Plex and tried refreshing the metadata. This did not help. I also tried to set up a Match, and in the list nothing remotely like the three movies appeared and trying any of the 3 suggested services resulted in “no matches were found.”

I am new to this and probably doing something stupid. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you. So far I have not added any TV shows, but this is what I have been doing for movies. Initially I was putting all the m2ts or mkv files in one large folder. The files were named correctly, but the file was called binder 1, etc. What I found subsequent to my first post was that if I put the m2ts or mkv file instead in a folder of the same name, Plex does get the correct data. I don’t know why it was sometimes doing it correctly and sometimes not previously.

Again thank you. I’m sure I’ll have some more questions going forward.
