I have everything i need to get my Apple TV with Plex but when I click on trailers I have no movies. Every video I watch right when they click on trailers all of the movies pop up for them but i dont have any? Do i have to add movies or am i doing something wrong?
So your saying your movies pop up but you can't access them? Or they don't show up at all and your getting the trailers is unavailable error?
When I watch people set theirs up it shows videos under the first category at the top, and it says I have none. I am able to access trailers but the only things that are in their are my Itunes movies.
Do you have Plex Media Server set up and running on your computer? Have you pointed your Apple TV’s DNS at your computers IP address?
Yes my Dns is connected and I have a Media Server downloaded but i cannot get it to open. I thought you just need the PlexConnect.py open for you to use it..?
Plex Media Sever and PlexConnect are two different pieces to the puzzle. PMS hosts your media, and Plex Connect allows you to access the media hosted in your server from your Apple TV.
So, in order for you to be able to access your content on your Apple TV, you must first have content hosted on your server in the first place.
So on the videos I watched people already had movies on their PMS? And why does it not let me open up PMS? I click on it but nothing opens up. It shows up on my Task Manager but nothing comes up.
If you are on Windows you may need to run PMS with admin privileges. I don't run it on Windows myself, but I've heard that can be an issue.
(Especially on Vista I believe. So if you are running Vista you can probably bet money thats at least part of your issue with running PMS)

You need to have videos in your Plex Media Server to access it on you PlexConnect running on your AppleTv. It is not a magical app that let’s you watch unlimited free movies from the interwebs. Your media must be on a physical computer with Plex Media Server installed. PlexConnect is merely a client which allows you to access your own media on your own server. It is possible to access media that friends/family have shared with you but that doesn’t seem to be the issue at hand.
