Server Version#:
Player Version#: 3.85.2
I don’t know the server version because I can’t get to it anymore. I run the plex server through my Seagate NAS. I can’t connect anymore. My Seagate NAS app manager says that the plex app is HTTPS noncompliant and I can’t run it anymore. I’m really getting sick of this app.
can you please share the exact message and where you get it?
Version 1.14.1.5488-cc260c476 When I view the icon for this app in my Seagate I get a this app is not HTTPS compliant. The Icon is grayed out. I have uninstalled the app and then reinstalled. It is getting very frustration to constantly have to trouble shoot this app every time I want to use it.
An answer for this issue has recently been provided in another thread.
I only have accessed the Plex Server from home on the same network. I haven’t change anything that I have done in the past. I reach the server from the IP address either to configure.
To be clear, the button in the Seagate UI is to open the local Plex Web app. That is not the same as opening Plex Media Server (PMS). PMS will still run. If you access the Seagate page using https, then it tries to use https to get to the local Plex web, which won’t work. Instead, access your router using http, then the link will also use http and you can open Plex Web.
You can also access Plex Web from outside of that page. Just enter the URL manually into your browser using http. We have a support article that describes other ways you can open Plex Web. https://support.plex.tv/articles/200288666-opening-plex-web-app/
We’re not sure either. Maybe the Seagate page switched to using https by default.
Right, that’s why it may be that Seagate change something on their NAS, maybe a firmware update that switched to using https by default. There has been no change on Plex’s side related to this.
