@georgiatriffitt I think you have a different issue than others here. =It looks like you are running a WD My Cloud Home. Unfortunately those are running a pretty old version of Plex Media Server and need an update to fix the issue with secure connections, which we are working with WD to get out but I don’t have an ETA.

You won’t be able to access via https://app.plex.tv but you should be able to via http://IP:32400/web where IP is the local IP of your server. not sure what other player apps you are using but in those that have it in settings if there is an Allow Insecure settings trying setting it to On the Same Network or Always

I’m not able to access at all. Not through desktop website, plex.tv, the IP:32400 or any app on any device (i have android phone, LG tv and firestick all of which are set to allow insecure connections always), it just says the server is unavailable and none of my users can access either. It was all working fine then suddenly wouldn’t allow access and the site wouldn’t even load, then I managed to get on the site and it asked to add a server so I reset it all up and seemed to work but now it’s doing the same thing again.

I moved this to a new topic because i don’t think you have same problem as others in the other one.

Can you describe how your network is set up? Are you using any VPNs or anything like that?

Can’t open my server either,
I logged to my server and you can see what I can see no library at all.

Can you login to the Western Digital NAS itself (not the Plex server application)?

Yeah mine looks the same. I can log into the My Home website and everything is there, the home cloud device is connected directly to my router with an ethernet cable. I have a vpn on my computer that I use to update plex but it’s only enabled when needed, not all the time and never been an issue, my computer is also connected with an ethernet cable. I haven’t downloaded the media server as I always use the online version to manage this. I had remote access set up and configured port forwarding on my router as well.

Why do you need a VPN to update the software? I’m just trying to understand your network

The server is on your WD. There is no online version. The web app which is accessed via app.plex.tv is just a player interface that has the server management options. You should be able to access the local version of that on your NAS at via it’s IP which is really strange that you can’t.

I did just reset your cert so please restart your WD and see if it is any better.

Sorry I think that was auto correct, I do not use the vpn to update plex. It has no connection to plex at all and it’s turned off the majority of the time. I meant I hadn’t downloaded plex media server I just use the website instead. I have not been able to access plex through the IP and none of the apps work at all on any device, it has just said unable to connect to server. I have been able to log into my cloud through the site and restarted it initially when plex started playing up but it didn’t make a difference. I have just rebooted again, and it seems to be working so thank you, I’ll have to monitor and hopefully it won’t stop again!

@f2934 I reset your cert as well. You might have to restart. If still having issues please describe your network set up
