@SERVIDOR_1 Thanks for the detailed report. They’re all did to the same issue with PMS. The difference in behavior you see with the different clients is that clients can request the file slightly differently from PMS due to variances in the underlying OS. In certain cases PMS is returning the wrong info. All of these should get resolved with a future PMS update.
Thanks. I am still curious why this would happen only with the files recorded by the Plex DVR. It never happens on TV series I’ve imported from other sources. The only difference I can think of is the file format, where the files recorded by the DVR are .TS and the ones I’ve imported are either MP4 or MKV.
It really shouldn’t matter if it is from the DVR or other source. It depends on the naming used. The problem is with date based episodes (i.e. shows that don’t have specific seasons and episodes like talk shows, sporting events, game shows, news broadcasts.) If the show you are having this issue with is not like these, then you might have a different problem. Please provide more details like the actual names of the shows so I can see if I can reproduce the issue.
All my shows follow the s##e## naming convention.
Here’s an example of the naming of an imported TV show (these play fine, no problems):
\TV Shows\Family Guy\Season 15\Family.Guy.S15E09.720p.HDTV.x264-AVS.mkv
However, here’s an example of the naming of a show recorded by Plex DVR which does not have s##e## in the file name:
\TV Shows\CNN Tonight\Season 2017\CNN Tonight (2009) - 2017-03-10 00 00 00 - Episode 03-10.ts
So now that you brought that up, I can see what the issue is. I don’t know of any way of controlling how Plex DVR names the files.
You can’t. Certain shows are just named using dates. You’ll just have to wait for the fix, or use a different client for now.
