Player Version#:

I am very new to this and am not sure if I’ve given the correct information for the server version. However, I did get Plex up and running on my computer, TV, and Firestick 4K. I am using a HD connected to a home network via my router to stream content from. I noticed today that several of the folders for one of my TV shows appears completely empty on the player apps, but the folders contain files in MKV, M4V, and MP4. Several seasons of this show do show up and are playable. Additionally, I have movies in these same formats that play just fine. Any advice?

would you mind sharing how you structured / named those tv shows?

your files should be organized something like

movie library root = \media\movies
\media\movies\moviename (year)\moviename (year).mkv

tv library root = \media\tv
\media\tv\seriesname (year)\season 01\seriesname (year) - s01e01 - episode name.mkv

I have a folder in the root with the series name, then folders within named series name/season #. Within those folders are the episodes named series name/season #/episode #. That works for four of the seasons. They show up and play fine. There are five other seasons named in the same way that do not. Originally, the season folders showed up but those five had no media in them. Now, the season folders don’t even show up. Inside the main show folder are only the four folders that contain the media files that play.

This is a good guide for tv-show naming.

This worked, thanks! Created a new library for TV shows only and changed the naming of the files.
