Can someone guide me in my TV Series naming?

Server Version#:Version 4.51.3

Hi guys! So I have a very lame question. I have a large folder with a lot of TV Series. None of the following folders and files are “seen” by Plex, it shows only empty folders:

Folder path:
E:_Series\La.casa.de.papel-Money_Heist\La.casa.de.papel.S01.2017.WEB-DLRip.1080p
Filename example:
La.casa.de.papel.S01E01.1080p

Another example:

Folder path:
E:_Series\The.Expanse.S01E05.1080p.HDTV.x264
File name:
The.Expanse.S01E05.1080p.HDTV.x264

Question is - why I don’t see the files in Plex? Why the folders are empty (IF they are found by Plex)?

I really don’t want to rename 200-300+ files (or even more)… Is it because of the dot symbol used in the filename?

I appreciate the help and I apologize if this question has been asked recently - I read 2-3 forum topics, all of them were archived. Thanks!

Your file naming sucks. Badly.

Those don’t suck.

Another reason could be a contributing factor is your file type. Mine are MKVs. If your are MP4/M4V… do this:

Then Refresh Metadata for the show you’re working on.

Between lousy file name and structure fixing - and removing the possibility for embedded metadata in MP4/M4V files from interfering - this issue should resolve itself… I hope.

A lot of people use sonarr for its illegal means but it’s useful for legal means too… it’s actually wonderful for using to rename all your tv shows automatically for plex to pick up.

Download sonarr. Add your existing tv shows to the sonarr library. Once added, click on a tv show and at the top click “Preview Rename” then execute. Should solve your issues.

You can modify the naming scheme in sonarr at settings - media management.
