Not refreshing movie posters

Unfortunately I did not. I applied the fix per the instructions and then went on to other things.

I’m having the same issue and posted about it her: Movie Cover Art Disappeared

I think this is related and I only noticed recently, but not sure when it started. I am on same server version (1.18.4.2171) This is about newly matched/added movies, but many of my movies that I’ve had for years. It seems like most are ones I uploaded manually (usually after I edited actors names and such off cover art) and uploaded.

I can provide logs or more info.

EDIT: 2 server resets and they appear to be back.

Version 1.18.3.2156
Same issue, newly added movies not getting artwork unless done manually (edit the movie)

Created a library ā€œMovies-testā€,
copied 2 movies into library,
scan library : no artwork,
refresh all metadata : no artwork
–grabbed logs-- (Plex Media Server Logs_2019-12-31_14-53-28_pre_del_cookies.zip)
# rm "/var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-in Support/Data/com.plexapp.system/HTTPCookies"
refresh all metadata : artwork
–grabbed logs–(Plex Media Server Logs_2019-12-31_14-57-19_post_del_cookies.zip)
add one more movie,
scan library : artwork.
–grabbed logs–(Plex Media Server Logs_2019-12-31_15-03-24_adding_another_movie.zip)

Whatever it is, it needs manual intervention for normality to resume.

Where can I get the downgraded versions?

Thanks!

I’m having this issue as well - I thought I was alone until I stumbled upon this.

I’m also on 1.18.4.2171 and am using Windows. I’m away from my computer at the moment, but will try the other suggestions here when I return home.

I have not recently done any kind of migration.

[Edit from the future:]

Deleting those HTTPCookies files unfortunately didn’t resolve my issue. I suppose I’ll hang tight for an update - I imagine things’ll pick up now that we’re on the other side of the holidays.

Is there any update on this issue?
As I pointed out in my last post, the poster URLs are being loaded in the HTML but seemingly not being loaded properly.

(this HTML from doing inspect element on a poster within the edit menu of a film)

Notice how the first poster has the tmdb.org link in the data-rating-key but the actual image is a placeholder with no source, then the second poster (the auto generated screenshot from the film, not auto selected but the last option that you can manually select) has the image linked in correctly.

I can manually edit the html on this page to display the poster as an option (selecting it does nothing of course) but something in this plex version must be breaking how they are displayed on platforms, I can’t understand why though.

pms 1.18.4.2171
How in the name of sweet baby jesus is this still not resolved ???

Have you guys done the HTTPCookies fix?

yes, as mentioned a few posts above.

Logs please?
Sample file names, as they exist? (so I may see what the scanner is looking at)

Having the same issues here.
Plex: Version 1.18.4.2171 (Fresh install this morning to try and fix the issue)
Installed in Portainer. Everything is running fine, except for the movie metadata. TV and music gets the metadata no problem.
Adding movie details manually only adds the text (Director, writer etc.) and the picture/poster does not show.
Log attached. Files are named per the plex guidelines.

Edit: I have tried the deletion of the HTTPCookies file, no change. I have tried deleting all the files in the data folder, no change.

I had to delete the HTTPCookies file under the plugin as well as the one under system. Not sure if that helps.

sudo find /var/lib/plexmediaserver -name HTTPCookies -print -exec rm -f {} \;

Chuck,
I get the error:
$ sudo find /var/lib/plexmediaserver -name HTTPCookies -print -exec rm -f {} ;
find: ā€˜/var/lib/plexmediaserver’: No such file or directory

As I have installed plex through docker I have to assume it’s elsewhere in the file structure of linux.

Further to my previous post, I am not able to search for anything manually. If I add a movie and try to match it automatically it seems to time out. If I refresh the metadata I get nothing but spinning wheels.

Every-so-often I get a little excited as a movie will pull down some metadata, like actors or such. But that enthusiasm is soon quashed.

I have updated the PMS to the latest version (windows) 1.18.4.2171

All movies I have added in last 1 month to now doesn’t get the cast info/poster/meta data

I have played with the agent a little and no changes at all… before that it added all those info without issue

I did delete HTTPCookies and it made no changes at all

All tv shows are being added without issue and all information that is needed is there

Thanks for looking into this

Also all my media is on my synology nas but the server is on my desktop windows 7 pc

@ScorpioTaz

How is your PMS installed? I wrote assuming the native app was installed on a Linux host.

If you are using Docker, the top directory is wherever you pointed the docker’s /config at.

22 posts were split to a new topic: No metadata in OMV Docker

I’ve got the same issue happening on my Window 10 setup with the latest version of PMS.
I’ve attached my logs if that helps at all. Used to work flawlessly before.Plex Media Server Logs_2020-01-09_21-04-43.zip (3.2 MB)
