I’ve seen waaayyyy too many posts for help on Movie, TV Show, etc libraries that can easily be resolved by just pointing out that you need to use the correct library types. While this doesn’t affect me at all, maybe add some one-time notification to libraries if the wrong thing is detected?
For example, if you have a new account and try to add both movies and shows to a Movie library, then have a popup saying something like, “We have detected season folders in some of your media files. Please use the correct TV Shows library to add these separately from Movies - they will not show in this library type.”
Or if you add both to a TV Shows library, the something like, “We have detected folders that appear to be movies and not episodes. Please use the correct Movie library to add these separately from TV Shows - they will not show in this library type.”
This is simply just to quell the huge amount of posts that don’t seem to understand the difference. It seems like there’s a post almost every couple of days from new users. I’m not going to vote on this myself as it’s a non-issue for me, but just a suggestion for dialing down the confused posts I see all too often. I think the required structures of each library type might be enough to differentiate between them. If not, I completely understand.
Or maybe just a dialog box when creating your first library that there are different types and then explain when to use which there.
