I’d like to suggest a feature where the user can specify keywords that when these appear in TV show titles in the EPG it triggers a notification being sent by email, the app, etc. so that you could then check to see if it’s of interest.
For example, you could add the keywords “Usain Bolt”, Osaka, Hemmingway and “Audrey Hepburn”. Then if a few months later a documentary with the title “The Life and Times of Usain Bolt” was due to appear on TV the user would get a notification that a show featuring their keywords was upcoming. They could then log in and, if they were interested, schedule to watch it or click to record the show, etc.
This could be supplemented with the ability to select if these notifications occur for all new and repeat episodes or new episodes only.
At the moment I guess I’d have to manually type in this list of words to the search function every few weeks to see if there’s anything upcoming, given this is not really practical it leads to missing some really interesting shows.
I was thinking notifications might be better as it allows the user to decide if they wanted to record the keyword flagged program rather than just automatically recording it?
Also, I see that proposal was made quite some time ago now and nothing’s been done so I thought maybe this alternative might be easier/could serve as an interim measure.
Just a suggestion though, and my first one at that, so apologies if you feel this has been done incorrectly and that votes should go to the other idea.
