I missed some recordings this week because my tuner went into limbo and wasn’t responding. Turned out plex knew it couldn’t reach the tuner but didn’t bring that info to my attention. I had to go dig down into the dvd settings to see the information.
It would be nice if plex web (and really any client) would put a big notification on the top level dashboard that the tuner was offline. It would help avoid missed recordings and a lot of head scratching as to why they hadn’t shown up.

PlexPy can help you with that. It can send push notifications to apps like Telegram or Twitter.
I run plexpy but it’s not clear to me how that would work. Since Plex doesn’t expose the tuner information the only way to do it would be via a custom notification and a script. If I had the time to puzzle out how that all fits together that would be fine, but I suspect it would be beyond the non-technical plex user.
WMC has a big popup on the screen when a recording fails. And, a easily accessible history file that would show the exact reason (No signal on Tuner <serial#> turner ##). Very handy!
