It would be nice to have the ability to send notifications to users as well as be able to display them if the server is/goes down. Ex. “We’re experiencing some technical difficulties. We’ll be back soon.” Rather than users not being able to access. It makes it confusing as there could be any number of reasons why content isn’t being displayed (ie app issue, network, server, etc.) and makes it easier for users to know the issue isn’t them.
The ability to send notifications comes in handy when new features are added. For family that is older, they dont usually go through release notes. It would allow me to help them even easier and more effectively.
Another example would be to notify users of a planned maintenace, so they dont think its down (not working). Then leaving a message when the server is disconnected that say, “Planned Maintenace. We’ll be back at 3am!”
Currently I make videos to provide news or app/feature updates with pictures and tips. It would be nice to have the ability built in.
