as @sixones has suggested, even though you don’t seem to be getting the ads now, I would still go through the steps @sixones laid out. It is very possible that this malware still exists, and could cause a lot more issues in the future.

Wow, thanks for that link. I was just starting to consider the shift from iOS to Android phones but this is the type of stuff that keeps me at Apple (as much as I want to switch). I don’t need my wife calling me while I am on the road for work because her phone is suddenly unusable.
