Nude Ads with Plex

please refund, and delete Plex. bye stop trolling

Youre the troll, Id prefer to use the application without the ads. I am not asking for a refund you should read the thread and stop trying to cause drama. People like you destroy communities.

Plex is not responsible for ads. I have 3 android devices with plex and two ios devices with plex. No ads ever. I’m a plex pass user since 2014 never ever I had adult ads visible.

You have already proven your words are rubbish with your lack of ability to communicate without trolling.

my 70 year old mother has the Official plex app downloaded from the Google Play store and uses it daily. Not one peep or scream out of her in regards to adverts EVER abruptly disrupting her movie or tv show experience. Please download either from Google Play store or the apk file directly from Plex’s Android depository links. They dont have ads as you claim cuz i have 9 separate android devices in my house hold.

MorpheusX just keep taking the blue pill.

Can you post a URL from the app store, from where you installed the Plex app?
Can you make a screenshot from the app store, where the app is show, and where one can see the app developer’s name?

One momment.

What about those other icons at the top?
I recognize Paypal and Facebook. Facebook!!!

There is a lot I find wrong with Plex but I have never seen anything pop up during playback and I have never see an ad at all. There must be something external to Plex causing what is being reported.

If there were ads popping up during playback these forums would be inundated with posts reporting it and demanding tat it be fixed. We would not be seeing just one thread with one user reporting the issue.

Another test:
try using the Plex app while on a different WiFi network.

There are other possibilities as to why you are getting these ads that aren’t related to Plex. Like others in this forum/thread I’ve used Plex for almost 10 years, and have it on almost 10 different devices and have never been served an ad (especially adult only ones).

Some ideas floating around are perhaps your home network (router) is compromised. Try writing down the URLs you are being directed to and search on the web to see what kind of malware would open them (suggested from @graham). Additionally, try running Plex on cell data (turn off wifi) to see if maybe it is something on your home network. When you said that you factory reset your phone. Was Plex the ONLY app you installed after the reset? Finally, it is also possible that your Google credentials/account was compromised. Google will sync all your devices together through your credentials, so it’s possible that you caught a bad malware chrome extension/plugin that could be the cause.

I am on my own wifi at home, in the last 11 years ive never had an issue related to the wifi.

Please explore the other points which were mentioned by @begunfx above.

Heres the URL of the full screen advert that just happened, tested all the above suggestions.

Completely wiped my phone and installed plex from google play store. This time using cell signal for source,

Make sure that your Google account doesn’t sync back any apps, settings or Chrome add-ons.

Yup, no issues there., There is absolutely no ad issues unless plex is open.

I’ve only had Plex since Nov 2018. I have servers on Windows 10 and nvidia shield machines. Watched my media on Plex officials apps from iOS App Store, browsers of all kinds and PMP and have never seen a single ad anywhere.
