I have a windows server with intel 13900K which has on board graphics (quick sync).
The transcoding using quick sync was excellent.
I installed Nvidia rtx 3080 for gaming, the issue is even when plex transcodes it used the GPU for transcoding.
i went in the setup and changed the device to the intel IGPU, it still refuses and continues using Nvidia.
Any solution ?
I think is normal because Intel Quick Sync can only be used with integrated processor CPU, Intel® 770 in your case.
So when you add an RTX 3080, the iGPU is disabled so Intel Quick Sync too.
Both of them are enabled and i can switch between them in two different monitors.
Also i have the option to select either in Plex settings.
however, what ever i choose, it uses the RTX 3080.
After some research, this can come from BIOS settings.
Maybe set Graphics config to AUTO in BIOS.
