9/10 whenever I turn on my TV and Nvidia Shield (which I only use for Plex), I get a black screen that I have to force-close Plex and re-launch. It’s been like this for over a year through multiple versions. Is there any sort of fix?
Never heard of that happening before. Do you have resolution or display frame rate switching enabled in Shield or tv?
No, and I think I’ve tried every menu combination possible. I have four Nvidia Shields in the house, 3 of the 2017 version, 1 new one, and they all do it. Have a couple of friends with Shields and theirs do it also, and only with Plex.
When you are done with shield what screen is often the last one when you leave it? Been asking others who have one and the closest thing someone said was that if they leave it on the post play screen it can be a grey/black screen when they turn on tv but they only need to hit the back button to get back to normal.
I tried it a couple of ways last night. It was very random on doing it, but I have left it in the past on the post play screen and hitting back didn’t fix it unfortunately.
I’m assuming it’s the Shield’s sleep mode and Plex not getting along. If I tell the Shield to never sleep and just power off my TV it’s fine.
