Nvidia shield cannot connect to server

This just started happening the other day. Works fine on all other devices/clients, it is just the shield/android tv client doing this. Same device can access same library using the Plex plugin on Kodi. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the app multiple times
Not sure if it is the latest beta player or server causing this conflict, but I did remove myself from the android TV beta ring only to get randomly dropped back into beta updates.

managed to fix this, my NAS DNS settings got all messed up somehow
