Could you provide the full logs from Settings -> Troubleshooting -> Download logs.

thanks for the reply

Attached.

Looks like there is an issue saving your preferences file on the device, not sure why.

Could you try and just completely restart the Shield and try again. Is there still free space on the main storage?

Also please disable Verbose logging. It is very rarely ever required and is wasteful having it enabled.

Ah that would also explain why i have to re-find and setup the PMS every time i restart the shield!

Did the reset, switched off verbose logging.

Also checked storage space 5GB left on internal 35GB left on adopted storage USB stick.

Still no joy.

Thanks. I’m not an expert on the Shield/Android so I’ve asked some people who are but they’ll only be online later. I’ll see what solution we can find for your problem.

One solution may be to completely reset PMS - you would lose all the PMS data and any libraries you had set up though and would have to scan everything back in fresh.

If this is an option for you then you can do this by doing the following:

  1. In the Plex app go to the settings, scroll down to the Plex Media Server option and turn it off.
  2. Now leave the Plex app and go to the Shield settings.
  3. Scroll down to Apps.
  4. Go to See all apps
  5. Scroll down to Show system apps and select it.
  6. Scroll down to Plex Media Server and select it.
  7. Click on “Clear data” and confirm.
  8. Go back to the Plex app, Settings and then go to Plex Media Server again which will now show the option to Set up. Go through that setup process again and once it’s finished then check if are now able to enable the DLNA server option.

Excellent, it worked. Thanks Dr. Z.

One final question. Any idea how to get rid of the old servers that are hanging around?!
